Our Vacancies

Preschool Teacher

The Child Care Teacher will support the center in implementing childcare programs. The incumbent will assist with carrying out the child care mission and values by providing high-quality child care services to children and parents that focus on Blessed Beginnings Learning Center’s values.

Essential Functions

- Implement both long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy.

- Provide input for bi-annual assessment of children’s development.

- Maintain daily open communication with parents.

- Keep accident reports.

- Maintain anecdotal records.

- Maintain confidentiality.

- Report any suspected abuse to the supervisor.

- Arrange a classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy.

- Maintain a safe and healthy environment.

- Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials.

- Attend in-service and staff meetings.

- Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance, and timesheets.

- Meet all applicable licensing regulations.

Requirments

Qualifications - Required

- Meet State of Michigan Teacher qualifications, including yearly in-service requirements.

- Minimum age of 18.

- Adult & child CPR or CPR/PR, First Aid, and AED Certifications.

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

- Commitment to working with children in a developmental setting and a sincere desire to have a meaningful effect on their lives.

- Able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Work Conditions

- Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

- Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous situations.

- Provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering, lifting, writing, and feeding.

- May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions, or bodily fluids as part of the child care environment.

Infant/ Toddler Lead Teacher

The Lead Teacher provides work direction for team members in the classroom and oversees and ensures the success of program delivery. The incumbent works cooperatively with team members in the classroom and administrators to carry out the child care mission and vision. The incumbent provides quality childcare services to children and families that focus on Blessed Beginnings Learning Center’s values.

Essential Functions

- Plan both long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy.

- Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.

- Encourage assistants to contribute to curriculum planning.

- Coordinate field trips.

- Prepare monthly plan charts.

- Complete bi-annual assessment of children’s development.

- Report progress of children to parents in bi-annual reports and through parent-teacher conferences.

- Maintain daily open communication with parents.

- Keep accident reports.

- Maintain anecdotal records.

- Maintain confidentiality.

- Report any suspected abuse to the supervisor.

- Arrange a classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy.

- Maintain a safe and healthy environment.

- Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials.

- Attend in-service and staff meetings.

- Supervise assistants, aides, and volunteers in the classroom.

- Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance, and timesheets.

- Meet all applicable licensing regulations.

Requirements

Qualifications - Required

- Meet State of Michigan Assistant Teacher qualifications, including yearly in-service requirements.

- Minimum age of 21.

- Adult & child CPR or CPR/PR, First Aid, and AED Certifications.

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

- Commitment to working with children in a developmental setting and a sincere desire to have a meaningful effect on their lives.

- Able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications - Preferred

- Previous work experience leading programming for children.

- Supervisory experience.

Work Conditions

- Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

- Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous situations.

- Provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering, lifting, writing, and feeding.

- May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions, or bodily fluids as part of the child care environment.
